Coming Soon: Book Reviews

Picture of programming books

Thanks to an Amazon Wishlist and some generous family members, I picked up a couple of programming books over the holidays.

Like a lot of people, I have never read a programming book before. Unlike many of these people, I actually like to read so I am eager to check out these books and share my thoughts with you.

If you have been reading my blog you know that I have been planning to learn Python.

With that in mind, I originally planned to read Learn Python 3 the Hard Way first but after reading the intros to both books I decided to start with The Self-Taught Programmer instead.

The Self-Taught Programmer offers lessons from the perspective of a self-taught programmer who went from a code newbie to a software engineer at eBay in a year. As someone currently teaching himself programming, I could immediately relate to the situations he described in the intro. The fact that the book also uses Python only made it more appealing.

I also plan to read Cracking the Coding Interview but that one will be more of a long-term project.

Be sure to bookmark this blog or hit the subscribe button on the right to be notified when the book reviews and other articles are posted.

I am already reading The Self-Taught Programmer so hopefully, that review will be up in the next week or so.

If you are interested in picking up any of these books for yourself you can click on the link to buy the book on Amazon and support this blog in the process.

Happy coding!

Sharing is caring!
